Paul and I went on a little day date Monday and were strolling through Barnes and Noble. Paul informed me of a book that had been recommended by Albert Mohler called The Dangerous Book for Boys. So we each grabbed up a copy, sat down with our coffee's and had a good look. This book was awesome! It had every subject in it that a boy (or even a girl like myself lacking some basics on paper airplane making...) would want to know about. It says the book is for ages 8-18 but really I think our youngest, 3, could do some of the activities with Paul. Albert Mohler says of the book: "This book will tell a boy how to read cloud formations, make a battery, make a periscope, and construct "the greatest paper airplane in the world." Boys are told of the essential gear of boyhood -- including Band-aids. Young adventurers will also learn of famous battles, the history of artillery, and how to understand girls." It informs boys how to be gentlemen and just to put it simply - be boys! I love the idea of Job learning code language and how to build secret forts. God really made boys different than girls and I think this book highlights that and encourages boys to use the instinctual protective, provider side that's within their sweet little hearts. More boys need to be reading this book instead of playing nintendo or watching videos!!! I hope for those of you with boys you'll get it for your sons and those of you with girls get it anyway for your husbands (we found it quite interesting!).
