I listened to a great message on adoption by John Piper the other day and thought I would post it. It really hits the heart on reasons to adopt and how much adoption magnifies the gospel. The message is called Adoption: The heart of the Gospel, Eight similarities between God's adoption of us and our adoption of children. I was so encouraged when he talked about how much it cost God to adopt us as His children and that the Lord knows the cost is high (financially, emotionally and spiritually) when we adopt and God delights to give us help and comfort. WOW! Thank you so much for sharing this awesome teaching on adoption. Jerry & I were so blessed. As we sit here in tears, we are awestruck with the reality that the LORD has chosen us to be a part of something so huge, so beyond us, what a priviledge and honor to be called into the blessing and adventure of adoption. When he mentioned he was 50 yrs old and that his daughter was african american, it really hit home for us. God is using the ordinary to do extraordinary things and ultimately bring glory and honor to his miraculous ways and his limitless love, devotion and care for his children. God doesn't call the equipped he equips those he calls. I sent this out to my adoption group list for their encouragement. Thank you again and we are so excited to be on this journey together to Ethiopia. We LOVE YOU GUYS!
